Biography/History: "Regards, Roy McArthur" Class of 1933 1948 Handbook of Football Facts: Roy McArthur, Head B Team Coach: McArthur, a native of Calhoun, Ga., was graduated from City High School, Chattanooga, Tenn., in 1929 and entered Georgia Tech in September of that year. He was quarterback of the football team during the seasons of 1930, 1931 and 1932 and was graduated in 1933. He has remained at Tech since then, starting as B Team coach and assistant varsity basketball coach, except for armed service with the Coast Artillery from 1942 to February, 1946. He resumed his connection after his discharge and was named varsity basketball coach for the 1946-1947 season. He attained the rank of major during his armed service tenure. In addition to his coaching duties, McArthur proved himself a keen tactician as a varsity football scout. He was born January 27, 1906. Resources: Actual photo; files; Blue Print 1934
