Tech backfield ace, head baseball coach from 1962, added to the Georgia Tech football staff in 1955. Relinquished his football duties as assistant coach, chief scout and head coach of the Yellow Jacket scout teams in 1974, devoting himself fully to the Yellow Jacket baseball program. Baseball team was ranked 8th nationally in 1965 with a 20-8 record and 10th in 1971 with a 31-6 mark. The 31 victories that season established a record for Tech baseball. Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Non-Revenue Sports in 1980. Helped realize the creation of the Arthur B. Edge Jr. Intercollegiate Athletic Center being the primary coordinator from the Athletic Center with the builder. Retired in 1981 after serving the Athletic Association for 20 years as Head Baseball Coach. His 320 wins and 280 losses is the most victorious ever recorded by a Tech coach.
Member of Georgia Tech’s Hall of Fame since 1972.
